Geonel Gutiérrez tossed five innings of three-hit, one-run ball in Aragua’s 4-3 win over Carabobo. The left-handers from Artemisa, Cuba won his second game of the season in the LMBP and leads the circuit with a 1.00 earned run average.
Lorenzo Quintana collected four hits in his five trips to the plate and drove in two runs in La Guaira’s 18-10 victory over Miranda in a game filled with offense. The slugger knocked a run and also scored once on the night and saw his average rise to .365 on the season.
Dariel Álvarez went yard for the fifth time on the season and drove two runs to do his part in Caracas’ 8-7 triumph versus the Caciques del Distrito. Álvarez saw his RBI total to 18 and hits .377 on the season.
