Liván Moinelo notched his fourth victory of the year after allowing six hits and no run in seven innings during the SoftBank Hawks’ 2-0 victory over the Hanshin Tigers at the Pay Pay Dome in Fukuoka. The left-hander from Pinar del Río, Cuba struck out 12 batters and walked one to improve his record to 4-2 and his ERA to 1.54, a figure that keeps him the second best in that category in the Pacific League.

Raidel Martínez recorded his 20th save of the season after tossing a scoreless frame in a relief inning during the Chunichi Dragons’ 4-3, 10-inning victory over the Lotte Marines. The Cuban right-hander notched his seventh save in eight outings, reduced his ERA to 0.93 and expanded his lead in saves in the NPB’s Central League.

In the KBO collected a hit in five trips to the plate and drove in two runs to do his part in SSG’s 11-4 thrashing of Hanwha. The outfielder from Matanzas, Cuba who has be mired in a slump saw his average descend to .360 on the campaign. The outfielder is tied for the league lead in that statistical category.
