Yurisbel Gracial and Jorge Martínez lead Querétaro to a win. (+Mexican League Report)

Jorge Martínez tossed 5⅓ scoreless innings and fanned five to notch his fifth victory of the season in Querétaro’s 7-0 shutout of Tabasco. Yurisbel Gracial swatted a his 17th homerun of the season to aid his countrymen and teammate. Gracial also saw his average rise to .372 and has now knocked in 53 runs on the season.

Luis Avilés Jr debuted in Durango with a hit and two runs batted in during his five trips to the plate in Durango’s 9-8 loss to Aguacalientes. The infielder saw his average fall to .291, but augmented his RBI total to 33 on the season. Lázaro Alonso also helped the cause with a run knocked in and a run scored in two at-bats.

For Aguascalientes Greg Veliz notched his first save after striking out the last batter of the game to nail down the Rieleros win. The Cuban-American right-hander saw his ERA descend to 6.60 on the season and is starting to find his way in the Liga Mexicana de Béisbol.

Yasiel Puig continues to swing a hot bat. The outfielder from Cienfuegos, Cuba collected two hits in three trips to the plate and drove in a run, but Veracruz fell to México City 8-6. The Cuban saw his average rise to a robust .340 on the campaign.
