Yosmany Guerra drives in three in a Querétaro victory. (+Mexican League Report)

Yosmany Guerra continues to defy father time at his 41 years of age. Last night the Cuban infielder had a perfect evening, collecting three hits in as many at-bats and driving in three runs to do his part in Querétaro’s 10-6 win over Puebla. Guerra is now hitting a robust .379 on the campaign.

In a loss for Puebla Cuban-American Peter O’Brien launched his 11th longball of the season in the fourth inning. The 2024 All-Star has also knocked in 34 runs on the year and is hitting a solid .282. O’Brien will a key piece for the Pericos offense if they hope to defend their title in the LMB.

Jimmy Yacabonis has now put together two immaculate outings in a row. Last night the hurler tossed a scoreless inning in which he fanned two of the four batters he faced in México City’s 8-6 victory over Oaxaca. The right-hander has now struck out three of the last five batters he has faced.
