Although the Reds fell to Pittsburgh 9-5 Yosver Zulueta saw his first action in the majors tossing three innings in which he gave up a run on a hit, struck four and walked one. The right-hander now sports a nifty 3.00 ERA after one appearence.
Andy Ibáñez collected two hits in four trips, drove in two runs and scored a run in Detroit’s 4-1 win over Philly. The infielder from the Isle of Youth has played a key part for Detroit this year as the team’s utility man and now hits .284 on the campaign.
Yandy Díaz went yard for the seventh time on the season in five at-bats to do his part in Tampa’s thrashing of Seattle 11-3. The Cuban infielder has been red-hot over the last 15 games hitting a robust .358 over that span. After a slow start Díaz is starting to find his way with the lumber and is nursing a seven-game hitting streak.
