Yandy Díaz extends his hit streak, but Tampa falls to Seattle. (+Cuban MLB Report)

Yandy Díaz extended his hit streak to 19 games and knocked in a run, but Tampa still fell to Seattle 5-2. The defending league AL batting champion is looking like his old self hitting a robust .394 over his last seven games.

Aroldis Chapman struck out two of the three batters he faced in Pittsburgh’s 6-1 thrashing of Cincinnati. With his two strikeouts the left-hander moved to fifth on the All-time list for relievers.

Armando Álvarez continues to impress the Athletics. Since his call-up a few days ago he has done nothing but hit, in yesterday’s action the Cuban-American collected a hit, stole a base and scored twice, but the Angels downed Oakland 5-2.

Cionel Pérez notched his 8th hold of the season after tossing a scoreless inning in relief in Baltimore’s 4-2 win over Cleveland. The lefty from Matanzas, Cuba saw his ERA descend to 4.37 on the campaign.
