In the NPB Liván Moinelo notched his fifth victory of the campaign this Sunday after only allowing five hits and no runs in six complete innings during the SoftBank Hawks 10-3 victory over the Nippon Ham Fighters at Es Con Field in Hokkaido. The left-hander from Pinar del Río, Cuba struck out seven and walked three in the game. Moinelo improved to 5-2 on the season and now lead the Pacific League with a 1.43 ERA.
Raidel Martínez earned his twenty-fourth save of the season after retiring the three batters he faced in a ninth inning of the Chunichi Dragons’ 3-0 shutout victory over the DeNA Stars at the Vantelin Dome in Nagoya. The right-hander continues to lead Central League in saves and his earned run average descended to 0.79 on the season.
