Aroldis Chapman pitched a scoreless inning in which he fanned two of the three batters he faced to become the left-handed reliever with the most strikeouts in MLB history by surpassing Billy Wagner with 1,197. The Pirates fell to Atlanta 2-1 and the flamethrower now has 49 K’s in 29 innings pitched on the campaign.

Daysbel Hernández extended his scoreless innings streak to 9⅔ on the season after tossing a scoreless inning and winning his second game of the season for the Braves. The right-hander from Pinar del Río, Cuba has been lights out for the tribe since his call-up to the big leagues.

Luis Robert Jr slugged his ninth longball of the season, scored twice and knocked in a run during his four trips to the plate. The outfielder watched his average rise to .207 on the season and Chicago thrashed Colorado 11-3.

José Iglesias collected three hits in four at-bats, drove in a run and scored on an occasion, but New York fell 9-6 to the Houston Astros. The infielder is hitting a robust .425 in a part-time role with the team from Gotham.
