Yariel Rodríguez tossed six innings of two-hit, one-run ball, but still fell for the third time on the season in Toronto’s 3-1 loss to Houston. The right-hander also fanned six and walked two to see his ERA descend to 4.63 on the campaign.

For Houston Yordan Álvarez led the charge with a key two-run ninth inning homerun to put an exclamation point on the victory for the team from Space City. For slugger it was his 17th longball of the  and his average rose to .294 on the campaign.

José Iglesias and J.D. Martínez each launched a homerun, while also combining for five RBIs to lead the surging  New York Mets to a 9-7 win over the Nationals. For Iglesias it was his first dinger on the season and in Martínez’s case it was his 10th roundtripper on the year.
