Yordan Nodal pitched five strong innings in which he gave up two earned runs via three hits and struck out three, but the left-hander did not factor in the decision during León’s 6-4 loss to Veracruz. The young hurler who has been in the cross-hairs of Asia saw his earned run average fall to 5.89 on the season.
His countrymen Lázaro Blanco did factor in the decision and was the pitcher of record for Veracruz winning his second game of the season after hurling 2.2 innings in relief. The recently acquired Blanco also now sports a 6.60 earned run average.
Jimmy Yacabonis tossed two scoreless innings in relief to earn his third win of the season México City’s 7-3 win over Quintana Roo. The right-hander also fanned two and saw his ERA fall to 5.06 on the campaign. Yacabonis will return to the LIDOM in the winter.
