Luis Avilés knocks in four in Durango’s thrashing of Chihuahua. (+Mexican League Report)

Luis Avilés Jr swatted four hits in six trips to the plate, one of them being a monstrous fifth inning two-run shot to lead Durango to a 21-4 win over the Dorados de Chihuahua. The infielder in total knocked in four runs on the evening and now hits a solid .280 on the season.

Greg Veliz notched his third hold of the season after tossing ⅔ of a scoreless inning in Aguascalientes’ victory over the Tijuana Toros. The Cuban-American right-hander saw his ERA fall to 5.63 on season and has fanned 19 in 24 innings pitched.

Josh Fuentes drove in a run via a fourth inning singles to do his part in Yucatán’s 4-1 win over Campeche. The third baseman has now driven in 19 runs on the season and watched his average rise to.223 as well.
