Adrián Morejón secured his seventh hold of the season after pitching a scoreless inning during the Padres’ 4-0 blanking of the Nationals. The left-hander who sports a 2.18 earned run average has been a key cog for San Diego out of their bullpen this season.
Nick Castellanos swatted a two-run ninth inning double to put the nail in the coffin for the Phillies in the 3-0 shutout of the Twins. The Cuban-American outfielder has now driven in 52 runs on the season and is hitting a solid .296 over his last seven games.
