With the playoffs of the Liga Mexicana de Béisbol commencing very soon, a lot of Cubans plan to see action during Aztec Postseason. In what figures to be another exciting run to la Serie del Rey, expect plenty Antilleans to play a major part for LMB teams. Cubans have a storied his in México and should add on to their lore this year.
In the Zona Norte Yadiel Hernández (.300,14HR,70RBIs) and late season pick up Rangel Ravelo (5HRs) figure to play a major part for Dos Laredos in their playoff series against Monclova. Yoán López, who was a 2024 All-Star in the Liga Mexicana de Béisbol has been the most effective Cuban reliever in the circuit. The right-hander from the Isle of Youth has struck out 54 in 53⅓ innings pitched and will be an important piece of Unión Laguna’s bullpen in their series with Tijuana. Cuban-American hurler Greg Veliz has been coming on as of late and could play a big role out of the Aguascalientes bullpen in their series with Monterrey.
In the Zona Sur defending champion Puebla will count on Peter O’Brien’s (16HRs) power and late season acquisition Vladimir Gutierrez, an ex-big leaguer that could augment their rotation for a deeo playoff run. But the Pericos will have to take care of the Diablos Rojos of Mexico City, the best team in the league. The Conspiradores de Querétaro and their offense that is led by Yurisbel Gracial (.382), Leonys Martín (.305), Yosmany Guerra (.349) and Rusney Castillo (.351) will have their hands full with El Águila de Veracruz and Yasiel Puig (.314,18HR,43RBI).
