Tristón Casas collected two hits in four trips to the plate, one of them being his eighth longball of the season. The Cuban-American slugger also knocked in a run and scored twice, but the Red Sox fell to the Diamondbacks 7-5. Casas is hitting a robust .343 in the month of August.
Aroldis Chapman notched his fifth of the season after tossing a scoreless ninth inning in which he struck out two of the four batters he faced to secure the Pirates 5-4 walkoff win. The left-hander a 0.60 ERA in his last 15 games. Yasmani Grandal helped out his countrymen with a walk-off ninth inning blast, his eighth on the campaign.
Andy Ibáñez went yard for the fifth time on the season and knocked in three runs to do his part in the Tigers 9-4 thrashing of the White Sox. The utilityman broke a slump that has him hitting .171 over his last 15 games. Ibáñez has been a versatile player for Detroit all season.
