Raisel Iglesias notched his 29th save on the season after tossing a scoreless ninth inning during which he fanned a batter to secure the Braves 3-0 blanking of the Rockies. Over the last month the right-hander has saved 13 games and sports a 0.53 earned run average over that span. Iglesias is now one save short of the fifth 30 save season of his career.
Although he did not factor in the decision Carlos Rodón threw six innings of one-hit, one run ball in the Yankees’ 7-4 loss to the Rangers. The left-hander also fanned 11 and saw his ERA descend to 4.19 on the campaign. Rodón figures to play a major role for New York’s pitching corps in the playoffs.
Ryan Fernández pitched 1⅓ scoreless innings in relief in the Cardinals’ 7-4 win over the Brewers the hurler also struck out two of the four batters he faced and sports a 2.35 ERA over his last seven games. The reliever has also struck 57 batters in 58⅓ innings of work this season.
