Randy Arozarena laced a run-scoring eighth inning double to secure a Seattle 6-1 win over the Astros. The diminutive but outfielder also scored on an occasion and saw his average rise to .221 on the campaign. Since his arrival with the Mariners Arozarena sports a .751 OPS.

Yesterday’s win kept Seattle in the AL Wildcard hunt, leaving them 1½ games back of the Kansas City Royals for the last spot. Arozarena’s acquisition has been key in keeping the team from the Great Northwest in the race for the postseason with six games to go on the campaign.

Nick Castellanos swatted two hits in three trips to the plate and also drove in a run to do his part in Philly’s 6-2 victory over Chicago. The Cuban-American outfielder is starting to heat up at the right time and hitting .385 over his last seven games
