Aroldis Chapman notches makes history in a Pittsburgh win. (+Cuban MLB Report)

Aroldis Chapman notched his 12th save of the season, the 333rd of his career after tossing a scoreless ninth inning in which he allowed a hit and struck out a batter to secure Pittsburgh’s 2-1 win over Milwaukee. The left-hander has now 95 on the season and saw his ERA descend to 3.90. Chapman set the Pirates record for the most strikeouts by a lefty reliever in A season.

Nick Castellanos collected three hits in four trips to the plate including his 23rd longball on the campaign to do his part in Philadelphia’s 9-6 triumph over the Cubs. The Cuban-American slugger has now knocked in 86 runs and now hits a robust .500 over his last seven game.

Lourdes Gurriel Jr swatted a run-scoring single in the bottom of the second inning during Arizona’s 8-2 victory over San Francisco. The outfielder from Sancti Spíritus, Cuba has driven in 73 runs and saw his average rise to .277 on the season.

Adolis García went downtown for the 24th time on the season and drove in two runs, while also scoring on an occasion to lead Texas to a 5-1 win over A’s. The power-hitting outfielder has now gone yard twice over his last seven games. García who has had a subpar season by his standards has still driven in 83 runs on the campaign.
