Although he leaves without a decision Liván Moinelo shines in his last start of the season. (+Asian League Report)

Although he left without a decision, lefty Liván Moinelo tossed five scoreless innings via 63 pitches (his lowest amount of the entire campaign) in SoftBank’s 1-0 shutout of the Orix Buffaloes at the Pay Pay Dome in Fukuoka. The southpaw now finishes the season 11-5 record and 155  after his last start, thus leaving his ERA at 1.88 ERA on the campaign.

Depending Hiroya Miyagi does in his last start will determine whether he is the Pacific League Champion in this statistical category. Miyagi must first toss at least 7.1⁄3 innings without allowing any earned runs to claim the title. This would give him a  1.83 ERA title and would surpass that of the Cuban.

Moinelo who is the NPB’s highest paid player after signing a four-year, 26.4 million dollar extension last season has been one of the circuit’s most dominant pitchers during the regular and worth the investment made by the Hawks this offseason.
