Andy Pagés walloped two homeruns and drove in four runs while also scoring twice, but his best efforts could not prevent the Dodgers from dropping game five to the Mets 12-6. The outfielder became the youngest Cuban at 23 years of age to hit two longballs in a postseason eclipsing Yordan Álvarez, who did it at 26.
Pages becomes only the seventh Antillean to accomplish the feat in a playoff game. Aside from Pagés and Álvarez, Kendrys Morales, Tony Pérez, Yandy Díaz, José Abreu and Adolis García where the others. José Iglesias of the Mets was the only other Cuban to see action on the night when he came in as a defensive replacement in the eighth inning.
The team from Gotham will now head out to tinsel town to try to tie the series at three and try to force an all important Game 7. The teams will do battle once again on Sunday when Sean Manea will take the mound for New York, while the Dodgers have yet to announce their start for the contest which is slated for a 8:08 start time.
