Yadiel Hernández two hits in four trips to the plate and also scored a run, but his efforts could not save the Águilas Cibaeñas from a 3-2 defeat at the hands of the Toros del Este in the LIDOM. The slugger is not hitting a middling .250 in the early stages of the season.
The Cuban was a big bat for the team last season hitting .302 and knocking in 20 runs in 48 games with the Águilas, Hernández locks to be an integral part of the Dominican squad lineup once again this campaign.
In Venezuela Julio Robaina tossed three scoreless innings in which he only allowed a hit and fanned three. The left-hander also walked four and the Leones del Caracas defeated the Tigres de Aragua 6-4 in the battle of the felines in the LVBP. The Astros prospect saw his ERA descend to 8.44 on the season.
