Carlos Juan Viera: “I am very focused on helping this team win.”

Carlos Juan Viera’s first start in the Venezuelan Professional Baseball League was very positive for him as he did not allow a run in five innings with the Tigres de Aragua. Viera is one of the team’s main starters at the commencement  of the regular season. “I want to thank the fans and the board of directors of the Tigres de Aragua for giving me the opportunity to wear the team’s colors again after seven years.

“I am working hard day by day so that the work turns out positive and to be able to help my team win some games, because we are a winning team,” the man from Las Tunas told the official press after finishing his performance. “The team management saw that I was doing well and decided to let me pitch the fifth inning and I helped the team beat the Cardenales de Lara. I felt very good, the fastball had some velocity on it and I was able to mix it up well with my the breaking pitches,” the hurler concluded after an excellent start with Aragua.

Viera made his first start of the championship and was on the mound for five innings and only allowed a hit, no earned runs, four strikeouts and did not walk a batter. He was on the pitcher of revord but in the ninth inning the Cardinals tied it at two runs. In the end the victory went to the Tigres by a score of 3-2.

The man native of Las Tunas, Cuba threw 43 in 63, demonstrating his with great command on the evening. This is his second season with Aragua his go-around with the cats was in the 2017-2018 season where he didn’t pitch often or well for the squad. But after an amazing first start look for him to be a big part of the rotation.
