Rangel Ravelo swatted his fifth longball of the season and drove in a run in five trips to the plate during Lara’s 12-7 loss to Anzoátegui. With that homerun he became the third Cuban in the circuit’s history to hit 30-homers and knock in 150 runs in the LVBP. Ravelo in his own right leads the Cardenales with 28 RBIs on the season.
Although Los Mochis fell to the Tomateros de Culiacán 7-4, Yasmany Tomás went yard for the fifth time on the campaign in the eighth inning. The slugger from Havana also drove in two runs and saw his average rise to .231 and has knocked in 22 runs on the season.
In the LBPN Lázaro Alonso, Rusney Castillo and Yosmany Guerra combined for three hits, three runs batted in and three runs scored, but Rivas still fell to León 10-9. The three Cubans hit .419, .357 and .310 respectively. For León Adrián Moreno knocked in a run via a hit in three at-bats to aid the cause.
