Ronald Bolaños notched his his third win of the season after allowing a hit and no earned runs in seven innings of work during Los Mochis’ 5-0 shutout of the Tomateros de Culiacán in the Liga ARCO. The right-hander also fanned six and saw his ERA fall to 3.39 on the season.
Although Luis Avilés Jr swatted a three-run homer and drove in four runs in four at-bats the Venados de Mazatlán were still defeated by Naranjeros de Hermosillo. The Cuban infielder is hitting a robust .371 since arriving to the team and has also driven in 13 runs on the season.
Leonys Martín swatted a triple in three trips to the plate and knocked in two runs, but the Tiburones de La Guaira fell to the Cardenales de Lara 9-6. Although the outfielder is only hitting .220 he still driven in 20 runs on the campaign. Martín figures to be a key figure for the team in the second half of the season.
