Leonys Martín swatted a triple and scored a run in three trips to the plate to do his part in the Tigres del Licey’s 6-0 blanking of the Toros del Este. The Cuban slugger upped his average to .222 on the campaign and looks to heat up with the Round Robin right around the corner in the Dominican League.
Also in the LIDOM JC Escarra collected two hits in five at-bats and scored twice during the Águilas Cibaeñas’s 8-2 win over the league leading Estrellas Orientales. The Cuban-American catcher now hits a gaudy .326 on the campaign. Escarra will be leaving the team on December 23rd.
Henry Urrutia drove in a run via a fourth inning single during the Gigantes del Cibao 13-1 thrashing of the Leones del Escogido. The underused veteran has produced with every opportunity given this season and now hits .264 on the season.
