Yoanys Quiala tossed six innings of eight-hit, three-run ball to notch his second win of the season in the LBPRC. The righty also fanned four and walked one in Ponce’s 8-4 victory over San Juan. The hurler now sports a 3.49 ERA on the campaign.
For Ponce Lázaro Armenteros swatted two hits in five trips to the plate and drove in a run via a sixth inning triple, while JC Negret also drove in a run with a sacrifice fly to aid the cause. The outfielders are now hitting .239 and .067 respectively.
Also in the LBPRC Santurce fell to Carolina 4-3, Dariel Álvarez had his best game in his short time with the Cangrejeros. The outfielder collected two hits in five at-bats and drove in a run to up his average to a miniscule .200 in the Puerto Rican circuit.
