In the Liga ARCO Yasmany Tomás went yard for the second time on the postseason, an eighth inning solo-shot to cement Los Mochis’ 3-1 victory over the Algodoneros de Guasave. The Cuban is now hitting .364 on the playoffs and both teams are tied in the series at three games and piece.
Also in the Mexican circuit and although he did not factor in the decision Vladimir Gutierrez was solid on the mound once again for Ciudad Obregón. The right-hander tossed five innings of six-hit, two runs ball during the Yaquis 6-5 loss to Hermosillo. The Cuban hurler also struck out two and Obregón was eliminated from the playoffs by Naranjeros four games to two.
In the LIDOM José Barrero collected two hits in three trips to the plate and drove in a run in the Estrellas Orientales 12-6 loss at the hands of the Escogido. The infielder has now driven in four runs in the Round Robin. The Leones and Estrellas are now tied for second in the postseason standings with identical 4-3 records.
