JC Escarra got his first start of the season and laced a double in seventh inning for his first hit as a major leaguer during his four trips to the plate. The native of Hialeah, Florida continues his storybook ride and figures to get plenty of at-bats this season for the Bronx Bombers. The Yankees also downed the Diamondbacks 9-7.

For the Diamondbacks and in defeat Lourdes Gurriel Jr collected a fourth inning double to do his part for the team and has now driven six runs to start the young season. The slugger has now knocked in three runs in the last two games.

Tristón Casas went yard for the first time on the season, a two-run seventh inning shot off Keegan Akin to do his part in Boston’s 8-4 win over Baltimore. The Cuban-American slugger saw his average rise to .154 on the campaign.

After a bad first outing, Néstor Cortés Jr had a quality start in his second trip to the mound against the Reds. The Cuban left-hander tossed six shutout inning in which he only gave up a hit and fanned six in Milwaukee’s 1-0 blanking of Cincinnati. The southpaw saw his earned run average fall to 9.00 on the season.
