José Iglesias knocks in two in a Padres win. (+Cuban MLB Report)

José Iglesias swatted two hits and knocked in two runs in San Diego’s 8-0 blanking of the Rockies. The Cuban infielder has been a key reserve for the Padres this season and is hitting a solid .263 as the team’s utilityman.

Miguel Vargas and Luis Robert Jr combined for two hits, three runs batted in  and two runs scored to pace the White Sox to an 11-1 thrashing of the Bosox. Each now hits .170 and .167 respectively on the young season.

Yordan Álvarez drove in a run via a fifth inning single and scored on two occasions to do his part in the Astros’ 14-3 thrashing of the Angels. The giant from Las Tunas, Cuba has now driven in nine runs on the season. After a slow start the slugger is hitting .318 in his last seven games.
