Daysbel Hernández won his third game of the season after tossing a scoreless inning and a third of relief in which he only allowed a hit and fanned two during Atlanta’s 4-1 win over the Cardinals. The right-hander from Pinar del Río, Cuba saw his ERA fall to 2.38 on the campaign.
Nolan Arenado knocked in a run in a losing cause for the Cardinals via a double in the top of the first inning to start of the scoring for the Redbirds. The infielder has now driven in 11 runs on the season.
Tristón Casas hit a three-run bomb for the second day in a row during the eighth inning of Boston’s 8-5 loss to Seattle. For the Cuban-American slugger it was his third longball of the season and watched his average rise to .171.
Andy Pagés also homered for the second consecutive day and the Dodgers fell to the Cubs 7-6. The Cuban outfielder has now left the yard four times and has driven in seven runs on the season. Pagés is hitting a solid .261 in his last seven games.
