Vladimir Gutierrez has been unhittable over his first two starts in the Liga Mexicana de Béisbol this season. The right-hander tossed 7⅔ innings of three-hit, one-run ball in which he also fanned seven batters to lead Puebla to a 13-2 win over Quintana Roo. The hurler now has a sterling 0.66 on the season.

Yadiel Hernández swatted two hits in three trips to the plate and knocked in two runs, including a solo-shot in the fourth inning of Dos Laredos’ 9-4 victory Tijuana. The outfielder who scored three times on the day has now gone yard four times on the campaign.

Odrisamer Despaigne pitched 5⅔ innings in which he gave up one run via four hits and struck out four in a Yucatán 3-1 win over León. The righty also fanned four and saw his ERA fall to 4.50 on the young campaign.
