Miguel Vargas went downtown for the second time on the season, a sixth inning three-run shot to pace the Chicago White Sox in their 8-0 blanking of the Brewers. The infielder has now knocked in 12 runs on the season.

Luis Robert also jumped in on the act with two hits , four runs batted in and stolen base. The “Black Panther ” as he is known by the Cuban faithful driven in seven runs over his last seven games.

Yandy Díaz blasted his fourth longball of the season in the fourth during the Rays’ 8-2 loss to the Royals. The first baseman’s bat is starting to wake up after a slow start and is now hitting .346 over his last seven games.

Jorge Soler went yard for the second day in a row, but that was not good enough to prevent an Angels thrashing at the hands of the Tigers by a 10-4 count. The slugger has not swatted six homers on the campaign
