Andy went downtown for the eighth time on the season by belting a third inning three-run bomb to do his part in the Dodgers’ 19-2 thrashing of the A’s. The Cuban outfielder has now driven in 24 runs and hits .345 over his last seven games.
Nick Martínez had another impeccable outing after a slow start. The Cuban-American righty tossed seven scoreless innings in which he allowed only two hits and fanned three during Cincinnati’s 7-1 win over the lowly White Sox. Martínez has now had three straight quality starts and saw his ERA fall to 3.66 on the campaign.
For the pale holes Miguel Vargas collected two hits in four trips to the plate and drove in run. The infielder from Havana is now hitting a solid .327 over his last 15 games and has driven in seven runs on over that span.
