Date and groups revealed for the first Copa América Baseball tournament.

Although not yet official, reliable sources confirmed to ESPN Digital that the first edition of this new tournament will be played from November 13 to 22, 2024, in three cities across two Latin American countries. The event is organized by WBSC Americas and Loarte Consulting, with the goal of becoming a future qualifier for the Olympic Games and the World Baseball Classic.

The top three teams from each group will advance to the Super Round , where the champion will be dedetermined. The official venues will be announced soon, but Mexico is the leading candidate to host the majority of the games, including the championship game. The Copa América is the top international baseball tournament contested among national teams from the Americas.

Organized under the auspices of WBSC Americas (previously COPABE) under various names since 1985, including as the Pan American Championship it has historically served as the qualifier for major international tournaments like the Olympics and the Pan American Games.The Pan American Championship was suspended after the cancellation of the Baseball World Cup in 2011, though the World Baseball Softball Confederation is now reviving the tournament under the Copa América
