Nick Martínez had his sixth straight qualify start and won his third game of the season after tossing seven innings of six-hit, three-run ball and fanned two during Cincinnati’s 7-4 win over Kansas City. The Cuban-American hurler now has a solid 3.48 earned run average on the season.
José Iglesias laced a fourth inning two-run double and Adrián Morejón tossed a scoreless 11th inning to notch his second victory of the season during the Padres 4-3 extra-inning win over the Marlins. Morejón saw his ERA descend to 3.09 and Iglesias hits .255 on the season.
Yennier Cano threw a scoreless inning in which he struck out a batter to secure his ninth hold of the season during the Orioles 5-2 win over the Cardinals. The right-hander from Ciego de Ávila, Cuba now has 74 holds over the last three campaigns and also sports 3.74 ERA over that span.
Zach Neto went yard for the ninth time on the season, drove in a run and scored a run to produce the only run for the Angels in their 5-1 loss to the Yankees. The shortstop has now driven in 20 runs on the season. Neto is hitting a solid .306 over the last month.
