Roenis Elías put in an excellent performance this Thursday, but once again left without a decision during his team’s 2-1 victory over the Wei Chuan Dragons in the 2025 season of the Taiwan Professional Baseball League (CPBL). The game took place at the Taipei Dome and was attended by 13,091 fans.
The Cuban left-hander pitched seven flawless innings. He faced 23 batters and only allowed two hitters to reach base: one on a hit and the other on a walk. He retired seven batters via strikeout. In 96 pitches to thrown, 60 of which fell in the strike zone (62.5%). Unfortunately for him, he lacked offensive support from his squad and left the game tied at zero.
The Guardians scored two runs in the bottom of the ninth, leaving the Dragons on the field. Including this outing, Elías has made 11 appearances in 2025, all as a starter and has a 2-5 record. In 61.2 innings, he has allowed 66 hits and 39 runs (30 earned), for a 4.38 ERA.
He has also fanned 49 (sixth in the tournament) and walked 17, posted a 1.35 WHIP and batters hit .274 against him. The Guardians on the other hand are not having a good year and sit in llast place in the standings (13-33). The tournament lead is held by the Uni-President 7-Eleven Lions (29-18).
