Raidel Martínez notches another save in a Yomiuri win. (+Asian League Report)

Raidel Martínez earned his 28th save of the season this Saturday after tossing a scoreless inning while also allowing two hits in the Yomiuri Giants’ 3-0 win over the DeNA Stars at Yokohama Stadium.

The right-hander from Pinar del Río, Cuba who earned a save in consecutive days also saw his ERA descend to 1.08 on the season and once again tied for the Central League lead in saves. Martínez figures to be the key figure in Cuba’s bullpen in 2026 World Baseball Classic.

Although he had a quality start tossing six innings of four-hit, one-run ball in the CPBL during Fubon’s 1-0 loss to TSG. The left-hander from Guantánamo, Cuba also fanned four batters and walked a batter, while his ERA descended to 3.97 on the campaign.
