The 2025 Minor League season is approximately halfway through, and the prestigious Baseball America website updated its Top 25 Rookie Class prospects for both the Florida Complex League (FCL) and the Arizona Complex League (ACL) on Wednesday, July 16. The list includes three Cuban players, two in the FCL and one in the ACL.
Pinar del Río,Cuba native Yorman Licourt of the Blue Jays is ranked #11 in the FCL, while Matanzas native Jordan Sánchez of the Orioles is ranked #17; both are among the best players on their respective teams.
Licourt is the Toronto Blue Jays’ #27 prospect, and Baseball America highlights his ability to hit with both hands, his swing velocity, and his ability to recognize changeups and splitters. This season in the FCL, Licourt is batting .243 with six home runs, tied for third, and 40 RBIs, the league leader.
Jordan Sánchez, meanwhile, ranks second in RBIs, behind only Licourt, with 37; he also has four home runs and is batting .291. Baseball America highlights Sánchez’s offensive prowess, both on base and with power. His ability to play all three outfield positions is also notable, with right field being his natural position.
Meanwhile, in the ACL, Baseball America ranks Yandel Ricardo at #11, highlighting that he projects as a power-hitting player who relies on line drives to the gap, and that his skills should help him become an everyday shortstop in the MLB. Ricardo, a member of the Kansas City Royals, had an excellent start to the ACL season, hitting .342 with 14 extra-base hits in 120 at-bats (seven doubles, five triples, and two home runs), earning him a promotion to Class A, where he is hitting .242 after 16 games.
