Ernesto Martínez to play with the Estrellas Orientales this winter.

Milwaukee Brewers prospect Ernesto Martínez Jr will play with the Estrellas Orientales this winter after signing with the club for the second consecutive season. Martínez inked a deal with the club last season after missing last LIDOM season with an injury prevented him from seeing action.

The outfielder-infielder has spent this season with Nashville Sounds, a Triple-A affiliate of the Milwaukee Brewers. In 64 games with the farm club he is slashing .231/.348/.356/.714 with six homeruns and 32 runs batted in. The native of Holguín, Cuba will play with his country’s national team in upcoming World Baseball Classic in this coming March.
