Aroldis Chapman tossed a scoreless ninth inning to become the pitcher of record and notch his fourth victory of the year during Boston’s 3-2 win over the Marlins. The Cuban left-hander saw his ERA descend to 1.16 on the season and has now fanned 66 batters in 46⅔ innings of work.
Raisel Iglesias recorded a save for the second day in a row after throwing a scoreless ninth inning in which he struck out a batter to help secure Atlanta’s 2-0 shutout of Cleveland. The native of the Isle of Youth has not allowed a run in his last seven outings.
