Aroldis Chapman tossed a scoreless ninth inning in which he fanned a batter to secure his 31st save of the season and Boston’s 6-3 win over Tampa. The left-hander sports a 1.21 earn run average on the campaign and has now saved 366 saves for his career.
Raisel Iglesias retired the last three batters of the Braves’ 6-5 win over the Tigers. The right-hander from the Isle of Youth has now saved 27 saves on the season and has posted a 2.00 ERA since the All-Star break. Iglesias is now three saves away for a third straight 30-save season.
Yandy Díaz collected two hits in three trips to the plate and knocked in a run via a seventh inning single for the Rays. The Cuban infielder saw his average rise to .302 and now leads all Cubans in MLB with 83 runs batted in.
