With the season starting November 4th of this year the Indios del Bóer have added some artillery to their lineup. The 9-time league champ has added the bats of Yoelkis Guibert and Yoel Yanqui, which should greatly upgrade their offense.
Guibert who is bar none the best player in the Cuban Serie Nacional is tied for the Santiago team lead with Yanqui in homeruns with 10. Guibert also swung a big stick this summer in the Liga Mayor of Venezuela slashing .352/.417/.593/1.110 with five longballs and 20 runs batted over 108 at-bats with the Senadores de Caracas.
Yanqui on the other hand led the Liga Mayor in hitting with a .438 average playing with the Marineros de Carabobo. The slugger saw action last season with Bóer and has seen action in the farm systems of the Arizona Diamondbacks and Cincinnati Reds. The infielder also hit .167 in 10 games with the Navegantes de Magallanes last winter.
