JC Escarra knocks in two in an Águilas win. (+Cuban Winter League Report)

JC Escarra made his debut season debut in the LIDOM with the Águilas Cibaeñas with two hits in five trips to the plate including a fifth inning two-run triple to do his part in the Águilas Cibaeñas 6-5 win over the Estrellas Orientales.

The reigning league batting champion leaves his first game with a .400 batting average and figures to be a big part of the Dominican squad’s lineup and team leader in the lockeroom.

Raynel Delgado also got in on the action with a double in three at-bats and also scored on an occasion for the Águilas. The Cuban infielder now hits a robust .444 on the campaign.
