Leonys Martín named Player of the Week in the Liga ARCO.

This Monday, the awards for the best players of the week were awarded. Cuban Leonys Martín took home the award among hitters. Martín, who is making his debut this season on the Mexican winter circuit, faced the Venados de Mazatlán and the Naranjeros de Hermosillo this week, hitting their pitching to the tune of four home runs and seven RBIs.

He also hit .455 (10-for-22) over the last seven days with four doubles and the four home runs mentioned above, a category he leads the circuit and also heads the league in extra-base hits with nine.

The Villa Clara, Cuba native thus becomes the first Cuban to take home the award in the 2025-2026 season. The 37-year-old outfielder has started well on the Mexican circuit and, in 11 games so far, has a .282 batting average, with 11 hits, including five doubles and four home runs, 10 runs scored, and seven RBIs.
