In the Liga ARCO Yadir Drake swatted two hits in four times at the dish including a run-scoring single in the seventh and a sacrifice fly in the eighth inning during Mexicali’s 7-6 loss to Tucson. The slugger leads all Cubans in the winter leagues with 12 runs batted in.
Also in the Liga ARCO Julio Pablo Martínez collected a hit in three trips to the plate and knocked in a run via a fifth inning single and also scored a run to do his part in Culiacán’s 9-8 win over Hermosillo. The outfielder has now driven in seven runs on the season.
Orlando Martínez got in on the action for the Tomateros in their 9-8 victory over the Naranjeros via a two-run fifth inning single during his five at-bats on the night. The Cuban outfielder is now hitting .246 on the season.
