Leonys Martín returned to action from injury and swatted a homer in two trips to the plate, while also scoring twice and even stole a base to do his part in a Los Mochis 7-3 win over los Algodoneros de Guasave in the Liga ARCO Mexicana del Pacífico. The outfielder now hits a solid .279 on the season.
Yasmany Tomás also got in on the action with his own two-run in the first inning of the Cañeros victory. The Cuban slugger had a perfect night by swatting three hits in as many trips to the plate and watched his average rise to .200 on the year.
Also in México Orlando Martínez hit his third homerun of the winter, a solo-shot in the third inning of Culiacán’s 9-8 victory over Jalisco. The outfielder saw his average rise to .281 and has now also knocked in 11 runs on the season.
In the LIDOM JC Escarra went yard for the first time on the season a two-run bomb in the fifth inning of Águilas Cibaeñas 6-1 win over the Gigantes del Cibao. The Cuban-American catcher has now driven in five runs on the winter campaign.
