Also in Nicaragua Maikel Serrano made his season debut with the Gigantes de Rivas by driving in a run via a run-scoring ground out in the team’s 6-2 loss to the Indios de Bóer. The slugger opens his second season in the league with a .250 average, Serrano hit .373 last season with El Tren del Norte.
In the LVBP Yasiel Puig collected two hits in four trips to the plate including a sixth inning run-scoring double that gave Magallanes a lead they wouldn’t relinquish. The outfielder knocked in a run for the third straight day and Magallanes defeated Lara 5-4 .
