Rivas signs two big bats to upgrade their offensive attack.

The Gigantes de Rivas have significantly upgraded their offense by adding to big Cuban bats to their offense. The Nicaraguan League team have added infielder Henry Urrutia and outfielder Maikel Serrano to their roster giving them protection for their countrymen Lázaro Alonso in the lineup.

In Henry Urrutia the Gigantes get a two-time winter league batting champion with Lara of the LVBP (2018) and the Gigantes del Cibao of the LIDOM (2023). In total the native of Las Tunas, Cuba hits a solid .301 in 10 seasons in the Caribbean circuits.

In the case of Serrano, the outfielder hit .373 with El Tren del Norte last season, but was inexplicably not brought back by the league runner-up. The slugger is a very experienced bat that has also seen action in the Mexican and Venezuelan winter leagues hitting a very above-average .310 over five seasons.
