Yadir Drake laced two hits in five trips to the plate, including a run-scoring eigth inning two-run double to do his part to do his part in Mexicali’s 8-0 blanking of Tucson in the Liga ARCO Mexicana del Pacífico. The power-hitting outfielder has now driven in 23 runs on the season.
Also in the Liga ARCO, Leonys Martín hit his league leading seventh longball in four trips to the plate. Martin’s three-run blast accounted for the only runs in Los Mochis’ 9-3 loss to Hermosillo. The outfielder now hits .288 and has driven in 16 runs on the season.
In the APBN Alay Lago knocked in three runs via a pair of singles in the bottom of the fourth and fifth innings during El Tren del Norte 7-3 win over Rivas. The Cuban infielder also scored a run and saw his average rise to .279 on the young campaign.
