Cuban bats thunder in the APBN All-Star Game.

Lázaro Alonso collected two hits in three trips to the plate including solo-homeruns in the sixth and eighth innings to take home the game’s MVP honors during the foreign team’s 12-2 win over the nationals in the APBN’s All-Star Game. The Cuban slugger also won the pre-game Homerun Derby.

Yoelkis Guibert also got in on the action by laing a homerun of his own in solo-shot in the top of the fourth inning  during his three trips to the plate, while his teammate Yoel Yanqui also knocked in a run with a run-scoring double during that stanza. Both Cuban sluggers also scored a combined three times on the evening.

Alay Lago was also a stalwart with lumber by swatting two hits that led to three crossing the plate via a pair of run-scoring doubles in the second and fifth innings to do his part on the day. In total Cuban bats accounted for seven of the 12 runs on the evening.

At the halfway point of the season in APBN the Cuban talent has shone and left its mark on Nicaraguan soil. With a half a season left to play expect a lot more exceptional moments from the Cuban talent in the circuit.
