JP Martínez swatted a three-run second inning homerun, his sixth on the season to do his part in Culiacán’s 9-8 win over Hermosillo in the Liga ARCO Mexicana del Pacífico. The outfielder also scored twice and even stole a base to watch his average rise to .263 on the campaign.
Also in México Yadir Drake drove in two runs via a fifth inning Sac Fly and a ninth inning triple to lead Mexicali to 4-3 victory over the Tucson Baseball Team. The Cuban slugger now hits a solid .312 and has now knocked in 32 runs on the season leaving in the Mexican circuit in that statistical category.
In the APBN Raico Santos drove in two runs via two doubles in eighth and ninth innings, while also driving in a third run with a sacrifice fly in the fourth inning to help in the Tren del Norte’s 8-7 triumph over the Tigres de Chinandega. The native of Niquero saw his league leading average rise to .400.
Yassel Pino also got in on the show with a perfect 4-for-4 day in which he drove in two runs via a double in the first inning and solo homerun in the ninth inning. The infielder has now gone downtown three times on the season to go along with 17 runs batted in.
